Machine Quilting

Hi Everyone,

I know, I haven't added anything to my blog for . . . well, forever.  However, I am finally taking the time to let you know what's happening lately.  I have taught several students how to sew over the past year.  They are on their own now with all the confidence and skills they need to keep up their new craft.  This sewing class is soooooo good, it opens up so many possibilities.  What you learn can be applied to garment, quilt, and home dec sewinging, whatever you fancy.  So many students who come to this class comment that "this is so theraputic."  And it truly is.

I have developed new classes for kids.  Once they learn how to operate their sewing machine and make a pillow class, they can choose from a whole bunch of projects to work on.  Some are listed on my website under 8-11 classes.

Finally, I am now offering long arm machine quilting for you quilters that need to have you quilts finished.  I know you have some finished tops laying around that you just haven't been able to quilt.  Give me a call and we'll work to get it done.

Well, I am off to work on some projects now, I am currently finishing a quilt for someone who has commissioned me to make, I am finishing a nother project for someone who just hasn't got the time, but really wants it done, and I am getting things ready for my next class.

If you haven't signed up yet, then let's get sewing.

Have a great day.

Entry I

Hi Everybody,

We are all having such a great time in our classes.  I have four classes that have been ongoing for several weeks.  The way these classes work is that you sign up for the first level of my series of classes depending on whether it's for the Intro to Sewing or Beginning Sewing.  If you decide you like it, then you sign up for the next level and we just keep going.  That's why I don't schedule new classes every month.  Typically 99% of my students just keep coming back and the classes keep going.   If you find that you don't like to sew after all, then you don't have to come back for the next level.

These courses are fantastic.  You learn skills each week and work on those skills while you sew something.  There is lot's to learn and lot's to do every week.  Every student gets so excited about how much better they get every week.  Even if you have never touched a sewing machine, I guarantee you will be confident once you finish my courses.  You will be able to sew independently, read directions, and finish a project.

The quilting class is unique in that I take you through the whole process from that first cut to piecing, quilting, and binding.  Most shops only have you piece the top and not show you how to quilt.  We do it all.

I hope I see you soon at one of my classes.  We have so much fun it's often said "this is therapy."  The satisfaction of working through the process and coming out with a finished product usually is.

Check back from time to time.  I'm working on adding a home-dec series of classes for those of you who want to make a pillow or curtain, etc.

If you have any ideas, then let me know.  If you want to be added to my mailing list then just send me an email at
info@sewshouldyou.com.  I hope to hear from you soon.
